Susquehanna Strong is much more than just another hospital fundraiser.
It’s a chance for us to unite with community members to help patients of this community by growing and improving the services we offer. It means giving more people access to the highest level of care by installing state-of-the-art equipment and offering world-class services. There’s a standing promise we make to every patient. It says that we will take care of their health care needs, and Susquehanna Strong is one of the ways we intend to do that.
UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport
We are expanding the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport. The facility was already one of the only centers of its kind in Pennsylvania to receive an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, and the renovations will allow us to provide greater access to one of the preeminent cancer programs in the country.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Project
The Susquehanna Strong Comprehensive Campaign doesn’t start and end with just cancer care. Our planned physical medicine and rehabilitation project will include cutting-edge rehabilitation equipment, private rooms, and other innovative design elements.
Clinical Excellence Endowment
In addition to these physical improvements to infrastructure and equipment, we’re creating a new Clinical Excellence Endowment. The $10 million we aim to raise for that fund will go toward advanced training, continuing education, and general support of the clinical staff to make sure that the best and brightest not only want to join our health system, but that they also want to stay with us.
Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Gym
Our last infrastructure improvement for the Campaign will be to relocate the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Gym to UPMC Williamsport’s East Entrance to make it easily accessible for patients. The larger space will allow for greater distance between the equipment and will continue to serve both cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients.
